The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and WPT Foundation “All In” For Kids Poker Tournament
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and World Poker Tour Foundation “All In” for Kids Poker Tournament was held in New York City at the Mandarin Oriental on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014.
This year’s event raised an amazing $910,000 for Food Allergy Research at CHOP. Your generous support will help us continue our research into the causes of and treatments for food allergies, allowing us to truly make a difference in the lives of children worldwide.
This annual tournament, co-founded by Dan Shak and hosted by poker legend Phil Hellmuth Jr., brings together celebrities, athletes and World Poker Tour professional poker players with Hospital Trustees, donors and grateful families for an exciting and worthwhile evening to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Featured Beneficiary: Food Allergy Research
Allergies are among the most common medical problems in America. In fact, 15 million Americans have food allergies, and roughly two kids in every school classroom are at risk for a life-threatening allergic episode. But pioneering researchers at CHOP are rewriting the book on allergy. CHOP is the No. 1 ranked children’s hospital in the U.S. and a global leader in understanding and treating allergies.
About the Host
Phil Hellmuth Jr. is the greatest poker player to ever play the game. In 1989, at 24, he was the youngest person to ever win the World Series of Poker — a record that stood for 19 years. Hellmuth’s last win was his 13th career WSOP title.
Known as the “Poker Brat” for his always colorful, competitive and controversial personality, Hellmuth has won Player of the Year honors, the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship, the European Poker Championship and more than 50 other major tournament titles. In 2007, he was elected to the Poker Hall of Fame.
He is one of the most recognizable faces on television, with frequent appearances not only as a poker player, but as a host on ESPN, Bravo and NBC, as well as a competing coach against Annie Duke on Fox Sports Network’s Best Damn Poker Show.
This is his seventh time as the “All In” for Kids Poker Tournament host.
